Foodie Goodies: February Edition 2016
Over the past month I’ve been trying out many exciting products. Here’s what’s made my Foodie Goodies February edition.
The beginning of the month saw me tasting two different flavours of traditional Indian shortbread (called Nankhatai) from ChinsKitchen, one being Almond and Cranberry, the other Rose and Cardamom. The product was well packed and delicately presented, and as soon as the packet was open, you could smell the freshness of the ingredients which hinted at the melt-in-your-mouth spiced taste. If you’re looking for a gift, I recommend ChinsKitchen for something a little bit different; made fresh to order and free from artificial additives and preservatives.
Anytime I feel like buying a tub of ice-cream, it’s always Haagen-Dazs I reach for first. Creamy and indulgent, they’ve always been one of my favourites. Strawberry Cheesecake is the most recent flavour I have tried and I must warn you it is highly addictive. It has little biscuit pieces swirled through cream cheese and strawberry sauce. It might cost more than other brands but I think it’s worth it for those days when you want to spoil yourself, or share with a loved one.
I purchased these Marks and Spencer All Butter Stem Ginger Dunkers because 1) they are ginger and 2) they’re called dunkers… and I am most certainly a dunker! Many times I’ve lost half the biscuit into the cup and wanted to see how these would fair. They have a satisfying crunch and the taste of ginger is strong but not overly so. Best of all, they don’t go too soft and fall apart when you dunk them into your tea. I’ve already re-purchased these and sneakily even brought them into a cafe.
Spotted The Great British Bake Off stationery whilst on a lazy Sunday shopping trip in town. TK Maxx is a great place to seek out stationery goodies and I was pleased to see these reduced further in price. Sticky notes, labels for preserves, bookmarks and paper for writing recipes in . The bright Spring themed design is pretty to look at and there are a generous amount of labels and sticky notes contained in one pack.
The cookbook I haven’t been able to put down is Dannii Martin’s Hungry Healthy Happy. All your favourite recipes, in healthier forms and just as tasty. I love Danni’s sensible approach to healthy eating. Read my review which includes one of her recipes for Chocolate Hazelnut Spread.
I sent my second newsletter out in February and am delighted with the response. If you haven’t signed up yet -what are you waiting for? Don’t miss out on all the extra goodies I have in there!
