Hey, I’ve Been Missing You

Last week you may or may not have noticed that I didn’t blog at all. It’s the first time this year that I’ve gone a week without posting anything, and it felt very strange indeed. I don’t want to bore you with the details, because you might’ve already guessed why I’ve been absent, so I’ll keep it brief by simply saying that I’ve started a new job and the training has been pretty intense. I knew I wouldn’t have the time to concentrate fully on blogging, and there’s no way I would ever put up half-hearted posts just for the sake of it.
Not blogging made me feel like something was amiss, it was so strange that I thought it would be worthy of closer examination with my loyal readership.

It felt weird not planning any posts. I love spending the time researching, writing and scheduling posts. I could literally spend hours jotting down ideas in my notebook, or just thinking ‘that would be good for the blog’.

I was worried I would lose followers by not posting. It might seem over-dramatic to go only a week without blogging, but people can lose interest quickly. I hope I don’t lose any of you, because I love reading your comments or hearing about what you’re up to on other social accounts, especially Twitter and Pinterest.

I was scared it would make me lazy. It’s easy to fall into the trap of not bothering sometimes. Being tired from training, I would log on to my Mac but not have the energy to type up even draft posts. The last thing anyone wants is to not enjoy blogging, so I switched off. I was scared it might become a habit and I don’t want to be lazy.

Above all…

I missed it I’ve missed reading new comments, sharing links to other blogs I’ve enjoyed reading, missed joining in on the twitter chats, missed thinking about blogging 24/7 and really missed writing!

Things are going to be a little quieter around here over the next month or so whilst I find my feet in my new line of work. I’m going to post as often as I can, so I won’t be disappearing off the radar completely. You can always follow me on Twitter for any updates.

Let me know from your own experiences, if you’ve ever had to take a ‘forced’ break from blogging and how you felt about it.

I was actually dying to write stuff up on my recent holiday – but due to my lovely little spot in the hills internet was not available. I find breaks usually make me more motivated. Saying that I have drifted in and out frequent blogger for 5years. 5YEARS! Oh my gosh….

Dont worry – we’re not going anywhere 🙂
