Foodie Goodies Round Up

It’s been so long since I last posted a shopping haul and since I did a little shopping over the weekend, I thought I would share some of the products I purchased.

Elephant Food superfood snacks mega mix

I spotted these in Holland and Barrett and couldn’t resist picking them up. I’m always on the look out for on-the-go snacks and toppings for my breakfast, the ingredients are organic where possible, healthy and taste great. You can buy smaller bite sized packets but as you can see from the picture I went for the mega mix pack. I can’t wait to experiment more with them.

Brilliant berry boost – goji berries; blueberries; bee pollen; cranberries; quinoa and cocoa.

Nuttin’ but energy – raw cacao; brazil nuts; almonds; sunflower seeds and buckwheat clusters.

Coco chomp charge – coconut; raw cashews; cocoa; buckwheat clusters and cranberries.

Pineapple Jam

Purchased this at St George’s Market from a local trader. I’ve never tried Pineapple Jam before, so looking forward to trying this…if I can get it away from that bear! I was immediately thinking about potential bakes, and as I am on a coconut kick at the moment, I figured this would be a winner.P.S. this jam was delicious. Just the right amount of sweetness to go with the flavour. I can’t wait to buy some more.

Tesco Brown Sandwich Thins

These appeal to me because they are crustless and supposedly healthier than normal bread. They function perfectly for sandwiches, but I wouldn’t suggest toasting them, as they lose flavour and become unappetising (like cardboard).

Medjool Dates

I like to use Medjool dates as a sweetener, especially in porridge. But I’m happy to just eat them straight from the packet. They are more expensive than normal dates, but totally worth it!

Co Yo Coconut Milk Yogurt

If you read my blog, you’ll know I am a fan of this already. I discovered it during Veganuary and it is now my favourite yogurt; it’s so thick and creamy. It’s notoriously difficult to find here, but I wouldn’t buy it all the time anyway, as it is expensive. I’ve seen it for £1.99 per pot in Tesco, but you’ll generally pay more in health stores.

What have you bought recently?

Mmmm, love medjool dates. Coconut yogurt is a new one on me and I’d like to try some. But why I’m wondering is crustless bread better for you? I would have though chewing on crusts would be far better for you.

I’m one of those people that cuts the crusts off so they’re quite handy for me that way. Hehe. 🙂
