Shopping Haul

There’s nothing quite like a little pick me up and over the weekend mine was in the form of a shopping haul. I want to start sharing shopping hauls on my blog. Personally I find reading/watching other people’s hauls a pick me up in itself and provide inspiration for future shopping trips. My hauls are always going to be a mix bag of food/drink, beauty/fashion and music/books/dvds unless stated otherwise. So without further ado *drum roll, tea poured* Here’s my haul from my weekend shopping trip.

FOOD/DRINK:

Frank Honest Snacking:

My eyes are always scanning the shelves for healthy(ier) snacks and these with their bright packaging were impossible to miss! I haven’t heard of this brand before so I bought three flavours to try. Chocolate and Blueberry, Chocolate and Orange and Double Chocolate. I’ve already tested the first two and like the taste and texture. Just the right amount of flavour comes through. I noticed on the packaging that they’ve improved on their recipe too. So thumbs up. Can’t wait to try the double chocolate!

9 Bar:

I really like these energy bars for a treat. They are designed for people with active lifestyles and not particularly ideal if you are watching your weight. Still they are better than most sweet snacks! One bar is quite big so I like to cut it in half and save the other half for the next day.

Nakd: Christmas pudding

Nice idea by Nakd to bring out a Christmas themed flavour. I’ve heard people saying this one is good. Look forward to tasting it.

Cobden Brown 70% cocoa dark chocolate:

I bought this with the intention of making some halloween treats using it. I also prefer dark chocolate to the taste of milk chocolate. This is a local brand as well. Always good to support your locals.

Creative Nature Cacao Nibs:

Well, I really was in a chocolate mood when I went shopping, wasn’t I?! Again, I bought these to add to treats. Maybe cookies, I haven’t quite decided yet. Send me your suggestions of what you like to use them in!

 Desiccated Coconut:

I love sprinkling coconut flakes over yogurt, nana icecream, in smoothies and porridge. This pack only cost 79p so straight into the basket it went!

Coco Mojo

Whilst buying the coconut flakes, this drink caught my eye in the cold section. I’ve heard quite a lot of people saying that coconut drinks taste disgusting but I really like coconut so I’ve bought one to try. Any of you a fan of them? Does the taste differ much between brands?

Suki Tea Spiced Cocoa- Chai:

The name was enough! A new mellow herbal blend of delicate spices from Northern Ireland brand Suki Tea. Can’t wait to try it!

 Beauty:

Botanics Hydrating Eye Cream Age Defense:

This is a repurchase of my favourite eye cream at the moment. It’s lightweight and absorbs quickly. It’s not that expensive and a little goes a long way. I feel it does it’s job by hydrating the eye area, which just feels lovely first thing in the morning!

Trevor Sorbie: Curls and Waves Firm Hold Curl Cream and Salt Texture Spray 200ml

I’ve tried many products to help control my curly/frizzy hair and I keep coming back to these two beauties. I love the smell and they leave my hair soft and frizz free . The cream contains Vitamin E to tame, nourish and moisturise naturally curly hair plus it has UV filters to protect your hair. My hair is very dry so the cream is a must have for me! I use the Salt Texture spray over the Frizz Free spray because the cream covers the frizz part for me and the Salt Texture is very lightweight and easy to use. Great for in-between washes or if you’re in a hurry (like I am always).

Max Factor Whipped Creme Foundation:

This is my first time trying a mousse type foundation and I’m very pleased with the results. It has a medium coverage and leaves a very natural finish. I have combination skin and find a lot of foundations cake around my nose (dry area). This doesn’t do that as it has a hydrating formula. I find the best way to apply it is with a brush. I use the Real Techniques Expert Face brush and slowly build it up until I’m happy. I’ve been testing it from the beginning of the week and it lasts well throughout the day. I absolutely love foundations so if you have any you recommend then (pretty) please share your faves, drugstore or/and high end.

Smashbox Be Legendary Lip Lacquer – After Dark:

Autumn means time to bring out your berry/purple coloured lipsticks! My favourite colours! As soon as I swatched this in Boots I knew it had to be mine! So Into the basket it went! It’s a dark plum colour and looks great on its own or paired with another berry/purple colour. I paired it with MAC lipliner Nightmoth for a gothic look. Also paired it with Kate Moss 107 for a less dramatic look.

BOOK:

The girl with All the Gifts by M.R.Carey:

I picked this up in Waterstones after hearing good things about it online. It’s a different take on Zombies and apparently is very good. I can’t wait to read it and see if it lives up to the hype! Watch this space.

That concludes my first shopping haul post. Do you love hauls as much as me? Share your links with me here or on Facebook or Twitter. I’d love to read your hauls!
